Artavasdes IV 3-6 AD No known coins
Description
Artavasdes (BNP [4]), son of Ariobarzanes, was set on his father's throne by Gaius Caesar after the battle of Artagira. For his victory Gaius was hailed as imperator, an honor he "shared" with Augustus. However, Gaius suffered a mortal wound at Artagira from which he died five months later. Artavasdes was murdered shortly afterward. (Tac. Ann. 2,4 and Res Gestae 27) No coins are known for this king.
