Reference Description

Obverse: A Roman-style warrior, symbolizing Russian military might, stands in full armor before the city walls of Adrianople, holding a spear and a flag adorned with the Russian imperial double-headed eagle. The inscription reads "HADRIANOPOL. VICTR. RVSSOR. COPIIS DEDITA" (Adrianople, conquered by the victorious Russian troops). In the exergue: "D. 8. AVG. ST. V. 1829" (August 8, 1829, Old Style). Signed "C. PFEUFFER F."

Reverse: A laurel wreath encircles an inscription commemorating the leadership under Emperor Nicholas I and Field Marshal Hans Karl von Diebitsch, commander of the Russian forces. The inscription reads "AVSPICIIS GLORIOSISSIMIS NICOLAI I ET DVCTV COMIT. IO. DE DIEBITSCH SABALKANSKI", celebrating the emperor’s auspices and Diebitsch’s command in the Balkan campaign. Signed "G. LOOS DIR."
