This gold commemorative coin issued by the Central Bank of Armenia, is dedicated to the 15-th anniversary of formation of Armenian Army. Armenian Army was formed on January 28, 1992. That day is celebrated in Armenia as a public holiday.
The coin depicts the Order of Tigran the Great and the Emblem of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The Order of Tigran the Great is awarded for unique services rendered to the Republic of Armenia. Statesmen, military servants of the highest command of Armed Forces and other troops can be honoured with this Order.
