The Central Bank of Armenia has issued the gold coin commemorating the 125-th anniversary of Misaq Metsarents’s birth.
Misaq Metsarents (1886 - 1908) is a famous Armenian poet. He studied at Aramyan school of Svaz, “Anatolia” night college of Marzvan and Kedronakan Gymnasium of Constantinople. His “Rainbow” and “New Poems” collections were published in 1907 in Constantinople. Metsarents’s literary inheritance involves more than 130 lyrics, dozens of short stories and poems in prose, several literary-critical articles. The poetical art of Metsarents refers to classic romanticism and symbolism. He is one of the best singers of nature in Armenian poetry.
Metsarents translated metrical and narrative poems of West-European and Russian writers.
