2023 – After COVID Comeback

We hope this email finds you well. It’s been a while since we last communicated, and we are thrilled to share with you some exciting updates and changes at the Armenian Numismatic Research Organization (ANRO).

As the world continues to recover and get back to normal, so do we at ANRO. We have been hard at work, making significant updates to our website to make navigation easier, provide more information about the collector objects, and make it a hub for fellow numismatists.

Our website’s catalog section has undergone a major overhaul. It now features a comprehensive and easily accessible database of coins, medals, tokens, seals, and paper money, starting from ancient times to the present day. The catalog includes detailed descriptions of each item, images, records of sales, and information on public or private collections.

Here is a few images showing the set up.

We have also created a bibliography section that includes a comprehensive list of publications, searchable metadata and tags, and articles available for download. To make it even more accessible, we have integrated it with Zotero, a research assistant tool that is user-friendly and has a phone app for on-the-go access. Additionally, it’s worth noting that all of the ANJ’s have been broken up into individual articles and uploaded, making them easily searchable throughout their contents.

In addition to the bibliography section, we have also created a forum where fellow numismatists can communicate, share knowledge, and exchange ideas. It is powered by an open-source forum software and provides a platform for the community to come together and advance the field of numismatics.

Please note that to access the bibliography and forum sections, you will need to sign up separately. We hope that you will find these additions to our website valuable and that they will enhance your numismatic research and experience.

As this project is time-consuming, we are seeking volunteers with basic computer skills to help us take ANRO to the next level of numismatic research and society. If you are interested in contributing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We hope that these updates and changes will bring our numismatic community closer together and provide a wealth of information and resources for everyone to enjoy.

Best regards,

The ANRO Team
