Reference Description

Obverse: Laureate bust of Emperor Nicholas I facing right, wearing a military uniform. The inscription reads "NICOLAUS I TOTIUS RUSSIAE IMPERATOR" (Nicholas I, Emperor of All Russia). Below the bust, the engraver’s signature: "G. LOOS DIR. H. GUBE FRC."

Reverse: A dramatic scene of peace negotiations between Russia and the Ottoman Empire. A Russian officer in full uniform, with a sword in his left hand, extends his right hand to an Ottoman soldier, who is lowering his weapon in submission. Behind the Ottoman figure, a mounted warrior is seen departing, symbolizing the end of hostilities. The background suggests a battlefield transitioning to peace. The inscription reads "NULLA SALUS BELLO PACEM TE POSCIMUS OMNES" (No safety in war; we all seek peace). In the exergue: "PAX HADRIANOPOLI XIV DIE SEPT . | ANNO М . DCCCXXIX" (Peace of Adrianople, September 14, 1829).
