Reference Description
Obverse: A detailed depiction of the Zvartnots Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece of early medieval Armenia, constructed between 645-660 AD. The intricate relief captures the grandeur of the three-tiered circular design, surrounded by Armenian script reading ԶՎԱՐԹՆՈՑ ("Zvartnots"). Two doves, a symbol of peace and divinity, are positioned above the structure. The dates 645-660 mark the period of its construction.
Reverse: An inscription in Russian states: "Весной 645 г. начал строительство Звартноца и лишь когда наступил мир католикос Нерсес родом из Тайка" ("In the spring of 645, the construction of Zvartnots began, and only when peace was established, Catholicos Nerses, originally from Tayk, completed it"). The design features a stylized floral motif encircled by radiating lines, symbolizing the influence and spiritual radiance of the cathedral.
