Reference Description
Obverse: A depiction of the statue of David of Sassoun, Armenia’s legendary folk hero, wielding a sword and mounted on a rearing horse atop a rocky pedestal. The inscription in Armenian reads ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆ ("Armenia"), with the English equivalent ARMENIA following the curve of the medal.
Reverse: The inscription ՀԱՅՄԵՔՇԻՆԳԻՏԻՆՍՏԻՏՈՒՏ ("Armenian Engineering Institute") appears at the top, with Los Angeles 1977 marking the occasion. Below, the name Armniimash is inscribed, referring to the Armenian Mechanical Engineering Institute. A fleur-de-lis symbol is placed above the central text, possibly representing knowledge and progress.
