Arsames c.130 BC (Kov 218)
Description
Otherwise unknown to history, this Arsames is known from a single coin type which has been attributed to
Arsames I of Sophene (CSC 4; ACV 4). Although it bears some similarity to the early series of Arsames of Sophene, it is unlike his later coins. Alram's attribution to Commagene (Alram 239) is based on reading the badly preserved epithet as Theosebes, which is used by Samos (Kov-219). With reservations the latter attribution has been followed here.
