About Us / Contact Us

The Armenian Numismatic Research Organization (ANRO) was born out of a necessity to unify and enrich the study of Armenian numismatics, leading to its establishment on January 24, 2015. Recognizing the importance of accurate historical scholarship and accessible information, ANRO serves as a specialized hub connecting researchers, collectors, historians, and enthusiasts worldwide.

ANRO’s primary goal is to preserve and clarify the historical record by addressing longstanding misattributions, providing rigorous analysis, and simplifying the complexities involved in numismatic research. Through its carefully structured and continually updated platform, ANRO provides comprehensive resources that highlight the historical context and cultural value of Armenian coins and currency.

Core initiatives of ANRO include the searchable Digital Bibliography, the comprehensive archive of ancient and modern Armenian coins, medals, and tokens, and the Tigranes Die Study Initiative. These resources facilitate detailed scholarship and encourage collaborative contributions from both novices and experts, significantly advancing Armenian numismatic research.

Beyond preserving the past, ANRO actively encourages and cultivates a new generation of numismatic scholars and enthusiasts. Through accessible tools and educational content, ANRO seeks to inspire active participation in ongoing research projects, reinforcing a deeper appreciation of Armenia's rich numismatic heritage.

As an independent, community-driven organization, ANRO welcomes contributions and support from individuals passionate about numismatics, Armenian history, and heritage preservation. Whether offering expertise, volunteering time, or providing financial support, each contribution helps expand ANRO’s resources and impact. To join us or support our mission, please visit this link.
