Epiphanes & Callinicus 72 AD (Kov 285-286)
Description
Gaius Julius Antiochus Epiphanes (BNP Julius [II,11]) and Gaius Julius Antiochus Epiphanes Callinicus (BNP [II,76]) attempted to retain power after the death of their father, but were forced to flee to Parthia. Vologases I (AD 51-78) negotiated their safe return, and they were allowed to remain in Rome as honored citizens.
Two issues are known for this brief reign, a bronze of Selinus (Cilicia) and a second, possibly from Elaeusa- Sebaste (Cilicia), based on stylistic comparison.
