Notes

The Armenian Genocide Memorial in New Julfa, an Armenian district in Isfahan, Iran, stands as a poignant tribute to the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. Erected in 1975 on the genocide's 60th anniversary, the memorial reflects the enduring sorrow and memory of the tragedy while also embodying the resilience of the Armenian diaspora in preserving their cultural and historical identity.

Sasuntsi Davit, prominently featured on the obverse, is the protagonist of Armenia's national epic, Daredevils of Sasun. His tale, which celebrates heroism and justice, has become a symbol of the Armenian spirit. The medal connects the legacy of Davit with the commemorative efforts of the Armenian community in New Julfa, bridging folklore, history, and the enduring quest for justice and remembrance.
