This silver commemorative coin with nominal value Dram 100, issued by the Central Bank of Armenia, is dedicated to the centenary of Artem Mikoyan's birth.
Artem Mikoyan (1905-1970) was an Armenian/Soviet aircraft designer. In partnership with Mikhail Gurevich he designed many of the famous MiG military aircraft, some of them used during the II World War. In post-war period A. Mikoyan also designed missile systems to particularly suit his aircraft. He was twice awarded the highest civilian honor - the Hero of Socialist Labor.
Obverse of the coin depicts up to down MiG-25 (1964), MiG-19 (1954) and MiG-3 (1940).

This silver commemorative coin with nominal value Dram 5000, issued by the Central Bank of Armenia, is dedicated to Armenian Armed Forces. Armenian Armed Forces were established on January 28, 1992, by decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia. Since that time January 28 has been celebrating in Armenia as a public holiday. The coin depicts the Order of the Combat Cross of the Second Degree and the Emblem of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. The Order of the Combat Cross is awarded for absolute courage, selflessness and skills in defending the Fatherland.
