This silver commemorative coin with nominal value Dram 100, issued by the Central Bank of Armenia, is dedicated to Pele. The coin has been issued under the International Program “The Kings of Football”.
Pele (Edson Arantes do Nascimento, born October 23, 1940) is a former Brazilian football-player known as the greatest footballer of all time. He is the only player in the world to have three World Cup (1958, 1962, 1970) gold medals. Pele’s 1281 goals are recognized by FIFA as the highest total achieved by a professional footballer. In December 2000, FIFA named Pele “Footballer of the Century”, also declaring him the football ambassador of the world.
The coin issued with colored inks. Designed by Robert Kotowich. Minted in the Mint of Poland.
