Obverse: Left-facing portrait of Emperor Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia. The surrounding Russian inscription reads: "Б. М. НИКОЛАЙ II ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОСС.", which translates to "By the Grace of God, Nicholas II, Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia."
Reverse: Inscription arranged in five lines: "ОТЪ ЛАЗАРЕВСКАГО ИНСТИТУТА ВОСТОЧНЫХЪ ЯЗЫКОВЪ / ЗА БЛАГОНРАВIЕ И УСПЂХИ." Translates to "From the Lazaryan Institute of Eastern Languages / For Virtue and Success."
