Ezine - St. George Church

The St. George Church of Ezine is a historic Armenian Apostolic Church located in the village of Ezine, in the Çanakkale province of Turkey. The church dates back to the 16th century and was built during the Ottoman period.
The church is an impressive example of traditional Armenian architecture, with its high dome, cross-shaped floor plan, and ornate carvings and decorations. The interior of the church is decorated with frescoes, depicting scenes from the life of Christ and the saints. The altar of the church is adorned with a beautiful icon of St. George, the patron saint of the church.
The St. George Church of Ezine has faced numerous challenges over the years. It was closed for several years following the Armenian Genocide of 1915, during which many Armenians were killed or forced to flee the region. The church was also damaged in an earthquake in 1949, and it underwent extensive restoration work in the following decades.
