Istiniye - St. Charles Church

The Istiniye St. Charles Church is a Catholic church located in the Istinye district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in the late 19th century by Italian architect Giulio Mongeri in the Neo-Gothic style.
The church was commissioned by French Catholic missionaries who had come to Istanbul to establish a mission. The construction of the church was funded by the French consulate in Istanbul and completed in 1894. It was named after St. Charles Borromeo, a prominent figure in the Catholic Church who lived in the 16th century.
The Istiniye St. Charles Church features a tall bell tower and stained glass windows depicting scenes from the life of Jesus and other biblical figures. The interior of the church is decorated with ornate frescoes and marble columns. The church continues to serve as a center of worship for the local Catholic community and is also a popular tourist attraction.
