Obverse: A depiction of a runner crossing the finish line, representing the spirit of competition and athletic excellence. The Armenian inscription reads "ՀԱՅ ԵՐԻՏԱՍԱՐԴԱՑ ԴԱՇՆԱԿՑՈՒԹԻՒՆ 1972" ("Armenian Youth Federation 1972").
Reverse: Inscription "ARMENIAN YOUTH FEDERATION LOS ANGELES" along with "39th ANNUAL NATIONAL OLYMPIC GAMES" and the date "1972". In the center, the emblem of the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) is displayed, with the founding year "1933."

1972 Armenian Youth Federation of America souvenir medal from the Los Angeles Olympic Games. Founded 90 years ago, the AYF today is the leading Armenian youth organization in the USA. Bronze with loop as made, 38 mm diameter, 18.40 grams. A pewter example was also made, same diameter, 19.02.grams. Separate medals are awarded to the competition victors.
