Obverse: A detailed and artistic portrayal of Sergei Parajanov, wearing a stylized crown, is at the center. Surrounding Parajanov are elements from his films and life, including ornate patterns and symbolic figures. The inscription "Сергей Параджанов / 100" (Sergei Parajanov / 100) is displayed in the upper part, celebrating the centenary of his birth.

Reverse: Stylized image of a pomegranate split open to reveal seeds, symbolizing fertility and creativity. The small coat of arms of Ukraine is placed at the center of the seeds. The upper portion includes the inscription "Україна" (Ukraine), the face value "5₴", and the year of issue "2024".

Sergei Parajanov (1924–1990) was a visionary Armenian filmmaker, renowned for his unique cinematic style that fused rich symbolism, folklore, and mysticism. He is celebrated for masterpieces such as *The Color of Pomegranates* and *Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors*, which have left a lasting impact on world cinema. Although born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Parajanov lived and worked in Ukraine for much of his career, becoming a key figure in Ukrainian poetic cinema. His bold artistic vision and defiance of Soviet censorship made him a symbol of creative freedom. Ukraine issued this coin in honor of his contributions to both Ukrainian and global cinema.
