Reference Description

Obverse: A nimbate bust of Saint Gregory the Illuminator, facing forward in a blessing gesture. He is depicted wearing a chasuble and pallium, holding a gospel book in his left hand. Surrounding the design is the inscription "ARMENIAM VISIT _ XXIV • XXVI • IVNII • MMXVI," commemorating Pope Francis' visit to Armenia in June 2016. A dotted and solid border frames the design, and the signature "D. LONGO" is inscribed on the left near the saint's shoulder, acknowledging the artist's contribution.

Reverse: The papal coat of arms prominently, surmounted by a tripartite mitre and crossed keys. Below the shield is the papal motto, "MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO," inscribed on a ribbon. Surrounding the design is the text "FRANC _ ISCVS," emphasizing Pope Francis' name. At the bottom of the design, the signature "D. LONGO" appears near the rim, and the letters "P.M." (Pontifex Maximus) are engraved, affirming the pope's title. The mark "OMEA - MI" is placed on the lower right near the edge, denoting the mint and workshop location.
