Reference Description

The “Skhtorashen Platanus” is the oldest plane tree located at the spring Tnjri in the village Skhtorashen of Martuni region of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The age of the tree is over 2030 years. It is 54 m in height and 27 m in circumference at the trunk base. The shadow area is nearly 1400 m2. The tree has a 44 m2 hollow area which can accommodate more than a hundred people.
The fruit of the tree is a bunch of bristle-covered nuts.
Obverse: the coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia, the fruit of the tree in color.
Reverse: the image of the “Skhtorashen Platanus” tree and the name of the tree outlined to the bottom: “SKHTORASHEN PLATANUS”.
Minted in the Mint of Poland.
