Notes

Vahan Terian (1885-1920) was a prominent Armenian poet and public figure known for his significant contributions to Armenian literature. He was born in the village of Gandza and later studied at the Historical and Philological Department of Moscow State University, followed by the Oriental Studies Department at Petersburg University. His first poetry collection, "Twilight Dreams," was published in 1908 in Tiflis, marking the beginning of his influential career. In 1912, Terian established the "Pantheon" printing house, which published several of his works, including "Night and Reminiscences," "Gold Tale," and "Return." Terian's poetic style brought a new level of refinement to Armenian verse, characterized by its purity and expressive depth, which made his language a pinnacle of Armenian literary achievement.
