The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia ensures the supremacy and direct enforcement of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia in the legal system.
During the twenty-year activity of the RA Constitutional Court, over 1250 cases have been examined and more than 150 provisions of laws have been recognized as incompatible with the Constitution and invalid. The RA Constitutional Court is the founder of the International Conference of Constitutional Courts in New Democracies and since 1997 acts as presiding. The Constitutional Court is the fully-fledged member of the "Conference of European Constitutional Courts", member of the World Congress on Constitutional Justice. President of the RA Constitutional Court served as the Chairman of the Bureau of the World Congress for the period of 2014-2015, and is a member of the Venice Commission’s Bureau of the Council of Europe.
From the date of its establishment, the RA Constitutional Court has been publishing "Bulletin of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia", also by the support of the Centre of Constitutional Law "Bulletin of Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia (Supplement)" in Russian and English, two-language international Herald "Constitutional Justice" and four-language Almanac "Constitutional Justice in the New Millennium" are published and sent to more than 100 countries worldwide.
The RA Constitutional Court has organized 20 annual Yerevan international conferences, which were attended by nearly 1000 representatives of the constitutional courts from different countries, worldwide known legal experts and chairmen of the constitutional courts.
