Reference Description

Shavarsh Misakian (1884–1957) was a prominent Armenian intellectual, writer, and publisher based in Paris, France. As the editor of the influential Armenian newspaper Arach ("Forward"), Misakian dedicated his life to preserving and promoting Armenian identity, culture, and political thought within the diaspora. Founded in 1925, Arach became one of the most widely read Armenian-language newspapers in Europe, fostering a sense of unity among Armenians worldwide. Misakian's work extended beyond journalism, as he championed educational initiatives and cultural preservation during a period of significant upheaval for the Armenian people.
