Reference Description
Obverse: Depiction of the Matenadaran, the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts in Yerevan. The entrance features its towering columns, with statues of notable Armenian scholars and historians along the staircase. The inscription at the bottom reads "ՄԱՏԵՆԱԴԱՐԱՆ" (Matenadaran).
Reverse: The emblem of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, featuring Mount Ararat with the rising sun, a hammer and sickle inside a star, and a wreath of wheat and grapes. The surrounding inscription reads "Հայկական Սոցիալիստական Խորհրդային Հանրապետություն" (Armenian Socialist Soviet Republic). At the bottom, the number "50" commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the republic’s establishment in 1920.
