Hamazasp Babajanyan (1906-1977) has been rewarded as Hero of Soviet Union (1944). In 1975, he was appointed to serve as Chief-Marshal of Armored Forces of Soviet Union. Hamazasp Babajanyan has graduated from Tiflis Military School named after A. Myasnikyan (1929), participated in express courses in the Military Academy of General Staff (1948). Babajanyan has participated in the Soviet-Finnish Campaign and Great Patriotic War.
There are schools and streets both in Yerevan and Moscow named after Hamazasp Babajanyan.
