This silver commemorative coin with nominal value Dram 100, issued by the Central Bank of Armenia, is dedicated to Mario Kempes. The coin has been issued under the International Numismatic Program “The Kings of Football”.
Mario Kempes (born 15 July, 1954) is a popular Argentinian football player, an outstanding forward. In 1973 he signed the first contract with “Instituto” (Argentina) football club. He played for “Rosario Central”, then for “Valensia” (Spain) and other football clubs. During his professional career he played 494 games and scored 276 goals. He represented Argentina in 1974, 1978 and 1982 World Cups with the award gained in 1978. In the same year Mario Kempes was recognized as a best football player of the South America.
