RUBEN SEVAK (Ruben Chilinkiryan, 1885-1915) is a prominent Armenian poet, writer and physician. He graduated from the Berberian College of Constantinople, and the Medical Faculty the University of Lausanne. His poetry raises the subject of tragic fate of the people, describes the social injustice and expresses the idea of protest and rebellion. His prose is diverse in terms of genre one can find here short stories, articles, popular thought. Sevak's outlook, thinking and artistic style holds a special place in the Western Armenian literature in early 20 century. A victim of the Armenian Genocide in 1915. martyred during deportation, on the road to Chankiri, Turkey.
