Reference Description

Obverse: A Russian warrior, clad in armor and a helmet, stands with one foot on a fallen enemy banner. He holds a sword in his right hand and raises a flagpole with a standard that bears the inscription "А – ЗЕРУМЪ" (A-ZERUM)". Below the inscription is the imperial crown and the monogram of Emperor Nicholas I. A two-headed eagle, wings spread, sits at the base of the flagpole, crowned with the imperial crown and bearing a shield depicting Saint George slaying the dragon. Scattered on the ground to the right are Turkish weapons and armor. Inscription: "ЗАНЯТIЕ - АРЗЕРУМА" (Capture of Erzurum). Below: "СЪ МОДЕЛИ ГРАФА ѲЕОДОРА ТОЛСТАГО | РѢЗАЛЪ А. ЛЯЛИНЪ 1839 | 1829."

Reverse: The Russian double-headed eagle with outstretched wings, crowned with three imperial crowns. On its chest, a shield depicting Saint George slaying the dragon, encircled by the Order of St. Andrew’s chain. The eagle holds a scepter and an orb, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Below, the engraver’s signature: "Р. А. КЛЕПИКОВЪ 1837."
